I received a question from Carla:
My girl passed a week ago. I am really struggling with the loss. Just need to know she is ok.
What does it mean if you don’t get any signs from your pet? Are they still close by?
ANSWER:
Carla, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a companion who was woven into your daily life leaves a kind of silence that feels unbearable. What you’re feeling is something so many people go through after losing a beloved companion.
A lack of signs never means a lack of love or presence. When grief is fresh — especially in the first weeks — your mind and heart are in survival mode. That emotional fog can make it incredibly hard to notice subtle things. Many people only recognize signs later, when the sharpness of the pain softens.
She is very likely sending you signs right now, letting you know she is alive and well in spirit and will always be near.
Be gentle with your progress as you honor her memory and celebrate her life. In time, her presence and messages may be easier to sense.

I didn’t get any sign or message from Frankie until I listened to your podcast. Now I know what to look for. He was sending me signs I just didn’t realize it …and now he is in my dreams. I can actually feel him and his fur. God bless you Karen for all you do. I miss him so much. My days are so dreary without him.
I’m so sorry for your loss. It is devastating to say goodbye. I am truly happy to hear that you are recognizing the signs Frankie sends. Grief can block us from seeing them or paralyze us from sensing them. Dream visits are the best! That is REAL! Keep inviting him to visit and thank him when he does. God bless you too.
This is what I hope and pray for every day. My boy Titus has been gone for a month and it feels like ten years. I can’t breathe without him. He had kidney failure and could no longer eat. I feel so bad like I should have done more for him. It is an emptiness in my soul. Your books and youtube have helped me so much. Thank you.

Is it bad to beg for my precious cat Missy to come back to me? I don’t want to hurt her in spirit but I miss her so much. This makes me feel so much better but I just want her back
Try inviting Missy to return if that is the highest and best for her spiritual journey. If it is, then it will happen – some return, some don’t but they are always connected and may send someone else your way so be on the lookout.
