“My sweet dog, Trinity, died the morning of April 9, 2024. She truly owned my heart, and even though it’s been over a year, I am still very lost without her. I miss her terribly.
I am fighting cancer and have given up the fight since she passed away. I just want to be with her again so badly!! I still cry every day and would love to kiss her beautiful nose again and tell her (like I always did) how much I love her.
How do I move on because my heart is shattered?”
MY ANSWER:
I am so sorry for your loss. There are few words to ease your pain. The journey through grief is deeply painful, overwhelming, and can also be very lonely. My heart breaks for you.
There are a few recommendations as you move forward on your journey. What may help some may not be beneficial to you. These are suggestions that help most who are struggling with a loss:
1. Write a loving letter to your companion. Tell her everything you are feeling. Read it out loud, or quietly in your mind to them. She will hear your words and likely comfort you.
2. Honor her life: Make their life more important than their death. Focusing only on the day they died or how they died doesn’t serve either of you. That moment does not define her. If she was your best friend, then be a best friend to someone else.
3. Adopt or foster another pet
4. Volunteer at a local shelter or sanctuary like mine. Donate in honor of Trinity.
5. Plant a tree in her honor, create a memorial, or a piece of art that reflects her.
6. Book an afterlife session with one of my trusted colleagues on the BOOK A SESSION page. Just one afterlife message can be incredibly healing.
7. Read my books, watch my podcasts, follow my posts, and learn animal communication with my online course. This keeps your connection strong and opens a whole new world to you.
8. Take the best care of yourself in honor of Trinity. Don’t give up your fight. Focus on your healing and full recovery in all the best ways, knowing Trinity will be right by your side and wants you to live as full a life as possible.
9. Dr Joe Dispenza has many YouTube videos on how to release pain, fear, blame, etc. It takes effort and mindfulness but anyone can do this.
The choice is yours every day. Only you can take inspired action and do what feels right by honoring Trinity’s life.
