Dear Karen,
My husband and friends are not
supportive of my interest in
communicating with animals. In
fact, some of them make fun of me
and tease me about it. Did you ever
experience this kind of treatment
and how do I change their attitudes?

Dear Marlene,
It saddens me to hear this but I am
not surprised. Many people are
fearful of what they don't
understand and their only way of
dealing with it is to ridicule or
dismiss it.
I experienced many of the same
attitudes when I was learning how to
communicate with animals. I write
about this in detail in my book, "
Hear
All Creatures". In fact I
had just about given up due to the
mean and hurtful things some of my
'friends' were saying. It took an
unexpected message from a little
white dove named Noah to get me back
on track.
You'll have to read what Noah said
to me in the first chapter. The
bottom line is don't let anybody
stand in your way of your dreams.
You are only responsible for your
path, your goals, your dreams. Let
others find their way in their
time. Be there when they show
interest but it's best to not to
push your new beliefs or thoughts
upon them.
Surround yourself with others who
support your beliefs or join an
online practice group and meet
others who have this same goal.
Hopefully in time, your husband and
friends will support your goals.
P.S. Some of the people I thought
were my friends really weren't and I
found new friends because of my
work. My husband is now my biggest
fan although he still teases, "

can't talk..."
