Spring...A Time To Renew
March 2009

|
Greetings!
I
had to say goodbye to my dear, sweet kitty Honey
recently. She was a kitty I rescued from a shelter about
4 years ago. She was an absolute angel.
Around Christmas last year, she started losing weight
and thyroid medicine was not making a difference. Upon
further testing a tumor was found and her prognosis was
grim. I knew our time together was drawing to an end.
Honey
How
do you gather the courage to say goodbye?
How
do you pick the day or the time?
What happens if they seem to be doing well, even
playing?
If anyone is thinking that this must be so much easier
for me because I can communicate with them, let me tell
you there was nothing easy about this decision. Those
bonds of love are still there, just as strong.

I hope Honey's story will help
those of you who have grieved over the loss of your
animal friend and show you that the animals see things
much differently than you and I do.
I have included an article on "When
Is The Right Time To Euthanize?" in this
newsletter to help you make that impossible decision.
Keep in mind that some animals want to transition on
their own, not wanting our assistance. Each animal is
different.
I believe that grief is the ultimate price we pay for
the love, companionship and devotion that our animals
give us. Even after all the tears and all the pain I
still think it's worth it...
Do you?
If you had to go through all that pain again would you?
If you knew then how hard it would be would you still
choose to have them in your life?
What did you learn from that experience?
Share your thoughts on this topic with us for a chance

Shortly after Honey's transition, we welcomed a new soul
to our family. Meet
Kilo. He is about 9 weeks old, Chihuahua and
??? We are not quite sure. I have already been told he
looks like
Piglet from Winnie the Pooh!
With
abundant blessings,

"Dear Karen,
Are animals psychic? Can they see our future?"
Kathleen
Dear Kathleen,
I guess in a some aspects I do believe animals have
psychic abilities similar to our own. The difference
between us and them, however is that they don't see it
as unusual or extraordinary like we do. It's really
just another sensory tool they use. Since animals are
naturally very intuitive it would make sense that they
have some psychic abilities too.
They know things about us and have predicted future
events (clairvoyance) that they really shouldn't be able
to know. They sense things about our health and
well-being (clairsentience) and seem to know what we
need to stay more balanced and grounded.
I can just see the sign now....Instead of
Palm Readings..."Paw Readings"

When Is The Right Time To Euthanize?
How To Make This Painful And Personal Decision
There is nothing more difficult than
making that impossible decision to end your animal
companion's life. We all struggle with this
question or even if we should euthanize at all.
Some believe it is not our place to intervene.
Whatever your beliefs are it is still a difficult
time.

Congratulations to Lisa L. from Rancho Cordova, Ca.
Lisa was the first to answer last month's FREE BOOK

The correct answer is TRUE...When resolving behavior
problems like dog aggression or litter box issues,
problems will rarely change unless you modify your own
thoughts and perspective.
For this month's Free Book Give-Away read Honey's story.

truer we are to ourselves, the more God-like we
